There are many beautiful grasslands in the world, and all life is the most beautiful scenery on the grasslands. The starry sky of the grassland, the fresh air, and the flying fireflies are intoxicating. Let's take a look at the beautiful grasslands in the world.

1. Eurasian steppe

The Eurasian steppe is the widest steppe area in the world. It starts from the lower Danube River in Europe and extends eastward in a continuous belt, stretching nearly 110 degrees of longitude from east to west, forming the broadest Eurasian grassland area on earth.

The Eurasian steppe is home to many similar plants and animals. Rodent feeding and burrowing activities are important for vegetation maintenance and composition. These rodent species include the large marmot.

A vole, Iasiopodomvs brandii, consumes a very high percentage of its shoots in a few years, thereby almost degrading grassland habitats to deserts. Eurasian steppe fauna is very rich, wild ass, yellow sheep and other wild animals are widely distributed in the Eurasian steppe.

2. Pampas grassland

The pampas grassland, also known as the South American grassland or the Argentine grassland, is located in the southern part of South America, a subtropical prairie in the middle and east of Argentina.

It connects the Gran Chaco grasslands to the north, the Patagonian plateau to the south, the Andean foothills to the west, and the Atlantic coast to the east. The tall grass grassland in the humid subtropical climate of South America covers an area of about 760,000 square kilometers.

"Pampas" comes from the Indian Quechua language, meaning "prairie without trees", and is a relatively unique type of vegetation in South America.

3. North American prairie

The North American prairie is distributed in the central and western parts of the North American continent, below 2000 meters above sea level. The total area of the North American prairie is about 1.3 million square kilometers.

The vegetation of the prairie is mainly grass. There are some slightly larger plants on the edge of the grassland, such as yucca and prickly pear. Many grasse lands have been turned into farmland.

The prairie has large-sized animals, such as bison, Mustang horse, pronghorn antelope, etc., the latter is a unique animal in this area. There are quite a lot of rodents, such as chinchillas, marmots, and black-tailed marmots that are endemic to North America. Among the more prominent birds are the black ptarmigan, the vulture, and the cuckoo.

4. African savannah

The African savannah is distributed on the north and south sides of the African rainforest, the equatorial area of the eastern plateau and the west of Madagascar, enclosing the rainforest in a horseshoe shape. The distribution area accounts for 1/3 of the whole continent and is the largest tropical grassland area in the world.

The climate of the African savannah is mainly divided into dry season and wet season, and the plants on the grassland have xerophyte characteristics. In addition, there are many hoofed mammals, such as various antelopes, giraffes, zebras, etc., as well as lions, leopards and other beasts, and the insects have the most termites.

5. Serengeti Prairie

The Serengeti savannah is located in a large area of northwestern Tanzania and southwestern Kenya. It covers an area of 30,000 square kilometers.

This is a paradise for wild animals, inhabited by the most diverse and largest wild animal groups in the world, and is currently the most well-preserved primitive ecosystem.

It is also the only area in Africa where many terrestrial animals still migrate. The semi-annual migration of large animals is one of the top ten natural tourism wonders in the world.
