In the latest ranking of the world's livable cities, Canada has made steady progress, with three cities among the TOP10: Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto.

"In our ranking, the top 10 is still dominated by Western European cities, with several Canadians," noted the list's organizers, the EIU.

Surprisingly, Calgary jumped from 18th place to tie with Zurich for third place. Since then, Calgary has been named the most livable city in Canada.

Additionally, Vancouver ranked second in Canada and fifth globally, while Toronto is now officially the third most liveable city in Canada and the eighth most liveable city in the world.

Another notable point is that three Canadian cities in the top 10 scored perfect scores for health care and education.

This is thanks to Canada's health benefits: the public healthcare system takes care of the vast majority of the medical needs of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. This also helps universities in these three cities rank highly in the world.

Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto each received the highest scores in the education category in the EIU survey.

A previous ranking by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, which provides analysis and insight into the global higher education sector, placed the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia (UBC) among the top 50 universities in the world.

In its annual QS Top University Rankings, the organization also places the University of Calgary and Vancouver-based SFU in the top quarter of the world's top universities.

In its immigration levels plan for 2022 to 2024, Canada aims to welcome 431,645 immigrants this year, 447,055 next year, and 451,000 in 2024.

"Immigration has helped shape Canada into the country it is today. From agriculture and fishing to manufacturing, health care, and transportation, Canada relies on immigrants," Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has said.

“We are focused on economic recovery, and immigration is key to making that happen. Setting new immigration targets, as outlined in the Levels Plan 2022-2024, will further help bring immigration to our communities and across all sectors of the economy. "

Vancouver and Toronto are well known by everyone, but Calgary is still relatively unpopular. We believe that after the announcement of this ranking, Calgary will be seen by more people who intend to immigrate.
