The guitar has become an elegant instrument as popular as the piano and the violin and is popular all over the world.

Today, the guitar has developed into a variety, and there are dozens of different kinds of guitars in different shapes alone.

There are four-string, five-string, six-string, eight-string, ten-string, and twelve-string guitars.

Regardless of how the guitar has developed and changed, we can still divide it into two basic categories from the way it is held, both the Spanish guitar that is held on the chest and the Hawaiian guitar that is played on the lap or a stand.

From the principle of sound generation, the guitar can be divided into two categories: acoustic guitar and electric guitar.

1. Hold it lightly and avoid bumping it

When you are not playing the guitar, you should put it in a fixed place, such as in a case, on a stand, or against a wall, not in a place where it can be easily bumped.

2. Keep the body and strings clean

Wipe your guitar often, but don't use a wet cloth. When the guitar is not played for more than three consecutive days.

It is best to relax the strings and put the instrument into a case (box).

3. Avoid heat and humidity

In a hot or humid environment, the wood is prone to gluing, bending, and deformation.

4. When tuning the strings, the standard pitch should be used, not too high

When practising for the first time, do not tune the strings too high. Reduce the tension of the strings.

When the 3, 4, 5, and 6 strings are damaged, replace them in time to avoid affecting the quality of the sound or causing damage to the fingers.

5. Do not paint or wax the instrument, as this may affect the resonance effect

There are various ways and means to maintain the instrument, but the best way is to play it often.
