Chess is one of the oldest fighting games in the world.

It is believed that the game was played in northern India before 500 AD.

In those days the pieces were much simpler than the current chess rules, and the pieces represented infantry, warriors, chariots, and elephants in ancient India.

According to most historians, chess gradually spread from India to Central Asia, Persia, and Europe, and became popular in Constantinople in the 11th century.

Chess is played by two sides, and the opponent's king 'will die' to win.

Chess is played by White first, and then both sides take turns until the game is over.

1. The chess board is a square, equally divided into 64 squares.

These squares have two colors, alternating between dark and light.

The darker squares are called black squares and the lighter squares are called white squares, and the pieces are placed in these squares to move.

When arranging the board, the lower right corner of each square should be a white square.

The chess pieces are usually three-dimensional, with 32 pieces in total, 16 pieces for each side.

Each side's pieces are king (1), queen (1), rook (2), bishop (2), knight (2), and pawn (8).

1. King: You can move horizontally, straight, and diagonally, and you can move in or out, but you can only move 1 square per move. (Except when the king rook is displaced).

2. Queen: Horizontal, straight, diagonal can be moved, can enter or retreat, no limit to the number of squares moved, but cannot cross the opponent's disc.

It is the most powerful of all pieces.

3. Rook: can move both horizontally and straight, can move in and out, with no restriction on the number of squares it can move, but cannot move diagonally or cross the opponent's disc.

4. Bishop: can only move diagonally, can enter or retreat, no restriction on the number of squares it can move, but cannot cross the opponent's discs.

Each side has two bishops, accounting for the white frame called the white frame bishop, who can only walk in the white frame, accounting for the black frame called the black frame bishop, who can only walk in the black frame.

5. Knight: First move 1 square horizontally or vertically, then 1 square diagonally, combined for one move.

It can cross over the opponent's pieces and can move in or out.

6. Pawn: You can only move straight forward, not backwards, and you can only move 1 square per move.

However, the pawn in the initial position can choose to move 1 or 2 squares on the first move, and can only move 1 square per move afterwards.

The pawn's method of eating pieces is different from its move, it can only move forward diagonally to capture the opponent's pieces by 1 square.
