The moon is one of the most suitable objects for astronomical research. Astronauts and robots have placed many detection instruments on the moon.

They also brought the lunar rock back to the Laboratory of the earth for scientists to analyze it. Therefore, human beings already have a considerable understanding of the moon.

Nevertheless, the neighbor of the earth still has many mysteries that have not been revealed.

There is almost no atmosphere on the moon, so the temperature difference between day and night on the moon is very large. During the day, the temperature was as high as 127.25 ° C in a place with sunlight.

At night, the temperature on the moon can be as low as -183.75 ° C. Because there is no atmospheric barrier, the strength of the sunlight on the moon is about one-third stronger than the earth.

UV intensity on the moon is much stronger than on the surface of the earth.

Due to the thin atmosphere on the moon, many strange phenomena will be seen on the moon, such as the sky on the moon being dark; the place with sunlight being very bright, and the places where they are not illuminated being dark.

Therefore, the moon we see will be bright and dark. Because there is no air to scatter the light, the stars on the moon don't seem to flash.

On the moon, naked rocks and ring-shaped mountains are everywhere. The entire surface is covered with a layer of gravel particles and soil.

There are bright areas and dark gray parts on the surface of the moon seen from the earth. The bright parts are mountains and highlands on the surface of the moon, and the dark gray part is the plain on the surface of the moon.

The moon deviates from 3.8cm out of orbit every year. At the beginning of the birth of the moon, the distance from the earth was only 20,000 kilometers, and the spacing has now expanded to 380,000 kilometers.

And slowly, the distance between the two will become farther and farther.

Observing from the earth with the naked eye, the sun in our eyes seemed to be as big as the moon. But the sun is actually much larger. Why is it visually the same?

This is because the diameter of the sun is about 1.4 million kilometers, and the distance from the earth is about 150 million kilometers. The ratio of these two numbers is about 107.

The diameter of the moon is about 3500 kilometers, and the distance from the earth is about 380,000 kilometers. The ratio of these two numbers is about 108. The two values are almost the same, so the size of the two planets in our eyes is almost the same.

The moon may also be one of the "culprits" that cause people's insomnia.

In 4 years, the research team of the University of Basel, Switzerland, monitored the brain activity, eye movement, and hormonal secretion of 33 volunteers during sleep.

The results showed that during the full moon, these volunteers and deep sleep-related brain activity decreased by about 30%, and the melatonin level also decreased (melatonin is a hormone with hypnotic effects).

Not only that, on the night of the full moon, volunteers needed to completely enter the state of sleep 5 minutes more than usual, and the sleep time will be shortened by about 20 minutes.

According to a British study, the number of hospital consultations during the full moon will increase.

After 22 years of monitoring the Slovakia Prevention and Clinical Diseases Research Institute, it was found that during the full moon, gout and asthma were also high incidences.
