Mention coral and most people would dismiss it: it's just the coral reef in my fish tank!


In the tropical and subtropical oceans, there are many spectacular 'cities', and coral reefs cities, they are a paradise for marine life and many marine creatures and plants like to live in them because there is both shelter and plenty of food.


Coral is a kind of skeleton formed by the accumulation of calcium secreted by the lower coelenterate coral polyps as the main body, and this skeleton is often in the form of dendritic output, excessive harvesting of coral will seriously damage the marine ecology, so coral is internationally classified as a secondary protected organism. Corals are an ancient community of marine life and they can be traced back even 500 million years. Corals grow extremely slowly, taking decades or even centuries to grow a centimetre. In the case of red coral, for example, it often takes hundreds, if not thousands, of years for a mature red coral strain to form.


Either that or you hear white coral and blush suddenly: I have heard that so many fake red corals are dyed white coral. So white coral is not worth anything!


This is a misunderstanding, a very misunderstanding! The white corals above are actually white coral reefs. Coral reefs belong to white coral, but white coral does not only refer to coral reefs. White coral, in general, refers to white corals. This includes white corals in the reef species (which are coral reefs) and white corals in the red coral species (which are gem corals).


So what is the difference between red coral and white coral?


1, White coral is better and rarer than red coral, more precious and more expensive.


2, White coral is mainly composed of calcium carbonate, usually do whole ornamental, but many good shapes of dendritic forms are made by white coral.


3, If you get some fast large white coral that can be used as a bonsai stone, no matter where it is placed is very good-looking and dazzling.


White coral is also known as 'jade coral' and is one of the more common colours in coral, mostly creamy white, but also grey or porcelain white, often used as an ornament, white coral has an ivory-like colour, warm and opaque, just like raised with cream.


Red coral is a gem-quality coral, very valuable, its red colour from light to dark, and of course the price changes. It is because of the reddish colour of red coral that it has always been considered auspicious.


White coral is not only highly spiritual but also has the symbolism and meaning of improving wealth and increasing the luck of your people. White coral can also improve interpersonal relationships, and if one's relationships are not handled well, one can choose to wear white coral on one's body to help one and improve interpersonal and communication skills.


Coral is regarded as an auspicious and happy object, representing nobility and power, a symbol of happiness and eternity. Coral has been a luxurious treasure since ancient times and royalty would make ornaments from it and only wear it on grand occasions.


White coral is a noble-looking colour, then worn to accentuate the elegant feel. Milky white and porcelain white in appearance are the finest of white coral.


Some white coral can be greyish in colour, white coral has a porcelain-like surface and is a more common variety of coral, but is less popular than red coral in terms of audience.


White coral is less common in jewellery circles, but as coral, it is often dyed to imitate red coral for sale, a situation that is more common in the appraisal industry and needs attention.
