When we decided to visit The Bahamas, we knew our stay at the iconic Atlantis Paradise Island would be an adventure of a lifetime. Nestled on Paradise Island, this sprawling resort isn’t just a hotel; it’s a destination unto itself.

From thrilling water parks to luxurious dining, Atlantis offers something for everyone.

Hey Lykkers, join us as we recount our incredible journey and share insider tips for making the most of your stay.

Exploring Atlantis: An Aquatic Wonderland

Our Atlantis experience began with the resort’s famed Aquaventure water park. Covering 141 acres, Aquaventure is a paradise for thrill-seekers and families alike. We found ourselves racing down the Leap of Faith slide, which plunges through a shark-filled lagoon—a heart-pounding thrill we won’t soon forget. For a more relaxed day, we floated along the lazy river, enjoying the lush tropical scenery.

We also explored The Dig, an underwater-themed archaeological site that takes you through an immersive journey into the lost city of Atlantis. The captivating exhibits showcase marine life and ancient artifacts, making it an educational experience as well as a visual feast.

Unwind at Atlantis: Luxurious Amenities

Aside from the action-packed activities, Atlantis offers ample opportunities to unwind. We indulged in a day at Mandara Spa, where we enjoyed a rejuvenating massage that melted away our stresses. For golf enthusiasts, the Ocean Club Golf Course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, provides a stunning backdrop of the turquoise waters.

Our evenings were spent enjoying the resort’s vibrant nightlife. We caught a spectacular performance at the Atlantis Theatre and danced the night away at the Aura, both of which are must-dos if you’re looking for entertainment.

Savoring Bahamian Cuisine: A Culinary Delight

Dining at Atlantis is a feast for the senses. We had the pleasure of trying a variety of restaurants, each offering its own unique flavor. For a taste of local cuisine, we dined at the self-service buffet, Mosaic, where dishes like conch fritters and Bahamian jerk chicken were standout hits. Prices here are relatively reasonable for a resort, with the buffet costing around $60 per person.

Another memorable experience was our dinner at Nobu, where we indulged in sushi and sashimi that was worth every penny. Expect to pay around $100 per person for a meal here, but the exquisite dishes and elegant ambiance make it an exceptional choice.

Venturing Beyond Atlantis: Local Attractions

We also took time to explore beyond the resort. A visit to Nassau’s Straw Market was a highlight, where we browsed handcrafted souvenirs and local crafts. The vibrant market offers everything from handmade jewelry to traditional Bahamian straw hats.

For a serene escape, we took a short boat ride to Blue Lagoon Island. Here, we swam with dolphins and enjoyed the pristine beaches—an experience that truly showcased the natural beauty of The Bahamas.

Our stay at Atlantis Paradise Island was nothing short of extraordinary. With its blend of exhilarating activities, luxurious relaxation, and diverse dining options, it’s a destination that caters to every type of traveler.

Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, Atlantis has it all, making it a must-visit on any trip to The Bahamas. We left with cherished memories and a desire to return to this tropical paradise.
